A Vacation Gone Wrong

*Spoiler Alert!  Do not read if you do not want Far Cry 3 ruined on you.*
What happens when you put a "naturally talented, but directionless" man on an island full of psychopathic pirates, ruthless warriors and a sadistic slave trader with his friends lives on the line?  You get Jason Brody.  On this island Jason Brody begins as a man scared of killing, but eventually becomes a pirate killing machine.  There are many problems Jason is up against, but he manages to save his friends and defeat the enemy, but in the end will he choose to save his friends or stay and protect the island?

Jason Brody is 25 years old, 6'0 feet tall and was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  He has two brothers Grant and Riley and a girlfriend named Liza Snow.  Jason, his brothers and his friends went to Rook Islands on vacation to celebrate his brother Riley getting his pilot license.  Shortly after they arrived they were kidnapped by a group of pirated under the leadership of an insane pirate Vaas Montenegro.  Jason escapes Vaas's camp and makes it his mission to rescue his friends from the island and kill the men who run it.

Jason starts out as a city boy who has never used a gun before in his life, but in order to save his friends he had to learn.  Over the coarse of his vacation Jason uses many different weapons for various situations such as sniper rifles for long range, explosives for large groups and silenced weapons for stealth.  He also learns many skills such as knife takedowns, better healing and faster movement on land and water.  These skills help him overcome the various challenges he is faced with on Rook Islands whether it be a combat situation or finding various relics and collectibles throughout the islands.

Jason has met many allies during his vacation.  The first person he meets is Dennis Rogers.  Dennis introduces Jason to the Rakyat, a group of tribal warriors fighting for Rook Islands, and helps him earn the respect of the warriors and their leader Citra.  The next person he meets is Willis Huntley, an ex-CIA operative who gives Jason vital information on important people on the islands.  The last ally he meets is Sam Becker, a infiltrated agent who poses as a mercenary for Hoyt Volker and collaborates with Willis Huntley.  Sam helps Jason take down Hoyt Volker, the main obstacle on his journey to helping the islands inhabitants.

Jason also meets many enemies in his time spent of the islands.  The first enemy he meets is Vaas Montenegro.  Vaas was once a member of the Rakyat and was a great warrior, but the got addicted to the drugs Hoyt Volker brought to the island.  Hoyt then turned him into a pirate who would do anything for him.  Vaas and his pirates are the people who kidnap Jason and his friends and Jason has many other unfriendly encounters with Vaas throughout his time on the islands, ending with Vaas's death at the hands of Jason.  The second enemy Jason meets is Bambi "Buck" Hughes, a mercenary working with Hoyt.  Buck buys Jason's friend Keith from Hoyt.  Jason is sent on a wild goose chase looking for an artifact for Buck to get his friend back.  Once he gives the artifact to Buck and gets Keith, Jason realizes it was never Buck's intention to let them go, so Jason ends up killing Buck and saves his friend.  The last and biggest enemy Jason faces is Hoyt Volker.  Hoyt Volker is the leader of the privateers, a group of soldiers working for him, and a slave trader on the island.  After losing his alley Sam and his left ring finger Jason eventually murders the sadistic and mentally unstable Hoyt Volker and essentially frees Rook Islands.

Jason Brody is not much of a hero, but he managed to save his friends and defeat the island's most deranged and psychotic men.  He started out as a city boy looking for a thrilling vacation and in some ways that is exactly what he got.  In the end, he became a ruthless, murderous warrior who thrives on death.  "He's a fearless daredevil, a dedicated friend, and a bastion of untapped potential, but he feels that something critical is missing from his life. One day he will find what he's missing, and fulfill his potential. When that day comes, nothing will be the same for him again."
