Time for Reflection

The hardest type of writing for me was when we had to choose items and explain why we chose them. I found it difficult because it was was hard for me to explain the reasoning for the item.  I found writing fiction the easiest because there were many things we could do with our stories.

Of all the projects we have completed I think my best was my descriptive piece The Run .  I feel it was my best because I put a lot of work into it.  If I could do one project over it would be The Dark Knight Review Critique   I would do this one over because I didn't put a lot of work into it and I could have tried a lot harder. The peer assessment was not very helpful because not many people gave helpful criticism.  There was usually nothing that they said needed much fixing, but it was fun assessing other peoples work because it was something other then just writing and it allowed for someone else to review our work.

In my original writing inventory I said my writing weaknesses were my word choice, punctuation and sentence structure.  I felt that the various activities we did helped me to do better overall in my writing.  The most enjoyable activity we did in this course was Pitching a New Character.  We could choose whatever movie or TV show we wanted and could make our own character.  The least enjoyable activity we did was the editing exercises.  I didn't like them because I am not good at editing work.

Overall I really enjoyed this course.  Most of the projects and activities we completed were fun and enjoyable.  If there was one thing I change about the course it would be to remove all of the editing exercises.  They are helpful to improve editing skills, but they are not fun compared to the projects in the course.
